These homeowners were introduced to us by Adam Gibson Design initially for their master bathroom renovation. It was an outdated bathroom with poor use of space and needed a totally new design to better utilize the room and incorporate updated products and innovation. We worked with them on their specific selections and design tweaks to incorporate their personalities and contemporary aesthetic. With a completely new layout that better utilized the space we incorporated natural elements such as travertine in the shower, marble tile on the floor and shower walls, and a granite countertop. His and her vanities were designed in two heights to accommodate the difference in homeowner heights and an end cap separating the vanity from the shower was installed. Additional unique elements include the vaulting of the ceiling to instill a grandness to the space, as well as a sky light in the ceiling, and windows in the shower as well as stool room to bring nature into the space.
In addition to their master bathroom, we renovated their powder bath. We took a dated powder room which lacked visual interest, and provided them with a bathroom that personifies their interest in mosaic art. A floating vanity with a gorgeous green and gray quartz top anchor the room. A natural mosaic stone feature wall with beveled mirror and curved sconces that look like ice crystals give a gorgeous view into the space. The floor was creatively designed using 12×24 tiles cut into 12×12 tiles with clipped corners and 4×4 tiles and installed in a unique layout that gives an artistic approach to a traditional tile. A two-toned vessel bowl sink and vessel height faucets with crystal finials complete this bathroom which is now current and modern to fit their personalities.
Shortly after their master bathroom was completed, we again worked with Adam Gibson Design on a large renovation that included their entry, kitchen, and laundry room. The entry into their newly renovated home needed updated flooring that would have the wow factor they sought, and the hand cut Travertine tile did the trick. Their kitchen was still in the 70’s and needed a complete demo and upgrade utilizing new modern design and innovative technology and elements. We transformed an indoor grill area with curved design on top to a buffet/serving station with an angled top to mimic the angle of the ceiling. Skylights were incorporated for natural light and the red brick fireplace was changed to split face stacked travertine which continued over the buffet for a dramatic aesthetic. The dated island, cabinetry and appliances were replaced with bark-stained Hickory cabinets, a larger island and state of the art appliances. The sink and faucet were chosen from a source in Chicago and add a contemporary flare to the island. An additional buffet area was added for a tv, bookshelves and additional storage. The pendant light over the kitchen table took some time to find exactly what they were looking for, but we found a light that was minimalist and contemporary to ensure an unobstructed view of their beautiful backyard. The result is a stunning kitchen with improved function, storage, and the WOW they were going for.
And to complete this 1st floor transformation, we renovated their inefficient laundry room incorporating much improved storage and function. Custom blue cabinetry was utilized on both sides of the room for additional storage and includes a hanging drying area, a folding area, as well as a wall mounted hidden ironing board. New tile flooring, and a modernized sink and faucet were added. An electric blue and shimmering grey quartz for countertops give a beautiful pop of color. The laundry room is now gorgeous and a place to enjoy rather than the traditional room to avoid.
Each of these major renovations have taken dated inefficient areas of the home and given it the modern aesthetic that it deserved. In the homeowners own words “Where we had several cramped and rather dark rooms, we now have gorgeous ample spaces flooded with natural light and are delighted with the changes.”
