Sophisticated First Floor Addition and Renovations

This family has become a part of the Corinthian family as a multi-renovation client over the past several years. As always it was fun to help them achieve their goals with this renovation. They had outgrown their isolated kitchen which was separated from their family room and asked us to design a space that would provide an open floor concept for their first floor living spaces. By taking out a kitchen wall and adding square foot real estate to their kitchen, we were able to open the floor plan for easy access between the kitchen, new dining area and family room.

In addition, they asked us to design and build a detached golf simulator and entertaining pavilion for their three active boys. The golf pavilion is closely situated to the house via new patio’s and multiple seating areas. A wood burning fireplace on the exterior of the pavilion and a separate firepit makes chilly fall evenings a delight. The custom golf simulator inside the pavilion is a godsend for this family of golfers, complete with a seating area for quiet cheering and a beverage fridge, popcorn maker and TV for keeping an eye on their favorite sports team. This additional living space has become an integral part of this family’s lifestyle and has added hours of glorious entertainment.

In this homeowners’ own words:
“Our backyard was transformed with the addition of our own personal golf house built by Corinthian Fine Homes. We have children that enjoy golf and dream of playing golf in college.  Living in Indiana, one of the challenges of playing golf is that for 4-5 months of the year, the weather doesn’t always cooperate. My husband had a “pie-in-the-sky” idea to build someplace where our family could practice in the winter, and we could extend our home and flow into an outdoor entertaining space. Corinthian worked with us to develop our ideas into a truly spectacular physical presence that provides a practice area, additional storage and a warm outside area which features areas for lounging and dining. I don’t think there has been a day that we haven’t used an aspect of this design. I am in love with both the look and functionality of it all! We can’t imagine life without it!”
