This couple wanted to transform a basement area into a “wet bar and kitchen area to entertain family and friends.” They wanted to incorporate both his and her style of design, as well as have the amenities of a basement wet bar and kitchen with entertaining in mind. The space had been roughed in by the previous homeowner, so we designed the new wet bar and kitchen to fit within this floor plan.
Blue painted cabinetry with gold hardware started the inspiration for this space. Open wood shelves between the back cabinetry and on the interior walls of the passthrough bar area allow for beautiful storage and display. Two beverage refrigerators, a microwave drawer and a free-standing ice maker make food and beverage prep a breeze. A 3 x 12 ceramic tile backsplash showcases the back wall with bronze library lights to illuminate the petite farmhouse sink and champagne bronze prep faucet.
The end result is a stunning chic basement kitchen/wet bar that gives this young couple and their small children a place to hang out that is comfortable and functional, as well as enable them to entertain family and friends in style.
