Basement Renovation Improves Aesthetic and Functional Use of Space

These homeowners desired the basement of their 100 year old Southern Broad Ripple bungalow be transformed to provide additional living space with an office fit for two, a home gym area, separate laundry room and additional storage space.

We began by completely tearing out the uneven stairs leading to the basement and rebuilding them and in the process found a glass block window that had been drywalled over which now provides additional natural light to the office space. We removed the drywall ceiling that was in poor condition, relocated some plumbing and electrical lines and re-drywalled it with new can lights in the living area and left the exercise room ceiling un-drywalled to allow additional head space for exercise equipment. We removed the flooring and leveled it before installing rubber flooring in the exercise room and a floating wood floor in the living area. The laundry room was relocated out of the mechanical room and received an epoxy finish for durability.

In this homeowners’ own words:
“The Corinthian team helped us transform the basement into the space-that-no-one-wanted-to-go to the space-that-no-one-wants-to-leave.”
